- Around line 133-139: Update the jq blocking filter in the audit workflow to
retain findings with ident "known-vulnerable-actions" alongside
"impostor-commit" and "ref-version-mismatch", and update the filter test to
assert that known-vulnerable-actions causes failure.

## What Install Nix with `cachix/install-nix-action` instead of `DeterminateSystems/nix-installer-action` in `setup-nix` and the two workflows that inline it. Closes #31 ## Why `determinate: false` still installs upstream Nix, but the action always fetches the latest installer and its README announces the option's sunset, so CI could switch to Determinate Nix on any run. Options from #31: | Option | Nix installed | Version pinned | |---|---|---| | Accept Determinate Nix (drop `determinate: false`) | Determinate | No | | `DeterminateSystems/determinate-nix-action` | Determinate | Yes | | `cachix/install-nix-action` (this PR) | Upstream | Yes | Only `cachix/install-nix-action` gives both upstream Nix and a pinned version. We want upstream Nix because: - **Consistency:** CI runs the Nix release nixpkgs is tested against, and that developers run locally. - **Fewer moving parts:** no `determinate-nixd` daemon and no FlakeHub integration we don't use. Cachix is also a company, but this adds no new dependency: we already use its cache, and the action only runs the official upstream install script, so replacing it would not change the Nix we run. ## Testing Checked CI on this PR. ## Notes for reviewers #68 adds a fourth copy of the old installer step in `audit-action-pins.yml`. If this merges first, #68 needs the same swap when it rebases. ## Checklist - [x] Tests added/updated, or confirmed that no tests are required - [x] No breaking changes, or upgrade path documented above - [x] Readable commit history (squashed and cleaned up as desired) - [x] AI code review considered and comments resolved <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> <!-- coderabbit-ai-generated:v1 --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Chores** * Updated the Nix installation setup used by project automation to use a pinned release of the Cachix installer. * Removed the previous installer’s configuration settings. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai -->

What
Adds
audit-action-pins.yml, a reusable workflow (also run on dev-kit's PRs) that runs zizmor's online audits and fails on impostor commits and on version comments that don't match their SHA. On pull requests it only fails on pins the PR adds or changes; aworkflow_dispatchrun audits every pin.Closes #47
Why
update-action-pinsonly checks that actions are pinned to a SHA, not whether that SHA can be trusted.A pinned SHA's code never changes, so a finding on a pin the PR doesn't touch means upstream moved a tag. Auditing every pin would block every PR until it's fixed, e.g. on each release of
cachix/cachix-action, which movesv17.known-vulnerable-actions, which #47 asks for, is left out: Renovate bumps vulnerable pins, a bump that is still vulnerable would block the automerged patch & digest group, and an advisory without a fixed version would only block merges. Advisories on existing pins call for alerting, not a merge gate.
