fix(browser): reject function-valued globals at construction - #93

Navigate logical layers of code changes, visualize relationships, and explore their blast radius. 📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughBrowserEnclave now rejects custom globals that cannot be represented as JSON during construction. It serializes supported globals again for each run. The browser configuration reference and end-to-end tests describe and verify this behavior. ChangesBrowser globals

BrowserEnclave dropped a function-valued global without a word but still allowed its name in the validator, so the script ran and saw undefined; @enclave-vm/core throws at construction for the same option. BigInt and circular globals were dropped the same way. serializeGlobals now throws for a value that cannot cross the iframe boundary (a function or symbol at any depth, a BigInt, a circular structure), naming the global and pointing to toolHandler and toolNamespaces. The constructor runs it once so the error surfaces before any script; run() still serializes per run, so hosts that update a global between runs keep working. allowFunctionsInGlobals is documented as having no effect in the browser. to throw when JSON.stringify returns undefined, rather than silently omitting
the global; preserve serialization for values that produce JSON.

Review follow-up. JSON.stringify calls toJSON() before the replacer,
so a function next to a toJSON() method was dropped without an error,
and an undefined global was skipped while its name stayed allowed.
Globals are now checked on the original value, walking what JSON would
copy: a function or symbol (also one behind toJSON()), a BigInt, a
circular structure, or an object JSON would turn into {} (Map, Set,
RegExp, DOM node, ...) throws at construction, as does an undefined
global. The error names the full path (contains a function at
"hooks.0.run"). Plain objects, class instances, arrays and Dates (as
ISO strings) still pass.

Validation
Reproduced.
new BrowserEnclave({ globals: { double: (n) => n * 2, label: 'ok' } })constructed fine.run('return [typeof double, label];')returned["undefined", "ok"].serializeGlobals()(libs/browser/src/browser-enclave.ts:378) skipped functions, and also BigInt and circular values (itscatch {}). MeanwhileObject.keys(globals)still went to the validator as allowed names. Core throws at construction for the same option (Custom global "double" contains a function at root ...).Fix
serializeGlobalsnow throws instead of skipping. The error names the global:Custom global "double" is a function/Custom global "utils" contains a function at key "double". The message points totoolHandlerandtoolNamespaces.Custom global "x" cannot be passed into the sandbox: ....run()still serializes on every run, so hosts that update a global between runs keep working (covered by a test).allowFunctionsInGlobalsis documented as having no effect in the browser. Functions never cross the iframe boundary, so the constructor throws whatever the option says.Behavior change

libs/browser/e2e/globals.spec.ts(new, 8 tests). Before: 6 failed. The 2 that passed are guards: JSON globals still reach the script, and host updates between runs are picked up. After: 8 passed.Review follow-ups (d71c279)
toJSON()could hide a function (Copilot). Globals are now checked on the original value beforeJSON.stringifyruns, walking the own enumerable properties JSON would copy, so{ cfg: { fn, toJSON() {...} } }throws (contains a function at "fn"). The walk also refuses objects JSON would turn into{}(Map, Set, RegExp, DOM nodes, ...), and errors now carry the full path (at "hooks.0.run"). Plain objects, class instances, arrays and Dates (as ISO strings) still pass.undefinedglobal was dropped while its name stayed allowed (CodeRabbit). It now throws at construction.globals.spec.ts: 13 total); the three behavior cases fail on the first commit.Verification
