Configuration

BitLauncher provides several settings that affect how Minecraft is launched.

RAM

RAM controls the amount of memory available to Minecraft.

Example:

Minimum RAM: 2 GB Maximum RAM: 4 GB

The appropriate amount depends on your system and the mods you use.

Recommended approach

Start with a reasonable amount of RAM and increase it if Minecraft requires more memory.

Java

BitLauncher uses Java to run Minecraft.

Make sure your Java version is compatible with the Minecraft version you are launching.

If Minecraft fails to start, check that:

Java is installed. BitLauncher points to the correct Java executable. The Java version is compatible with Minecraft. The Java executable has permission to run. JVM Arguments

Advanced users can configure additional JVM arguments.

Example:

-Xms2G -Xmx4G

-Xms controls the initial heap size.

-Xmx controls the maximum heap size.

Warning: Do not copy random JVM arguments from the Internet unless you understand what they do.
