Turns on phones mode on the fleet's GPU hosts: --phones 2 in fcvm_fleet_host_agent_args, so each host runs a phone on its last two GPUs and the wall on the other six. ?mode=phones on the page shows them.

The images are already pinned by #723 (host ami-02ac54ae25a2312f9, tile ami-00a1fc37d63fbdad1, built from ejc3/fcvm main 67d383ea). The host image carries the phone image, a warm snapshot of a running phone, and /etc/fcvm-fleet/phone.env with the agent's phone arguments (ejc3/fcvm#1409, #1420, #1421, #1422, #1423, #1429). This change only tells the agent to use them, so it depends on #723 being applied.

What changes

  • fcvm_fleet_host_agent_args: --phones 2.
  • scripts/test-fcvm-fleet.py: the agent arguments include --phones 2.

Evidence

  • Host image build (build-ami.sh, g4dn.metal): warm-phone: cold boot ok=1 streaming_ms=52003, warm snapshot phone-warm in 13185 ms, clone ok=1 click_to_first_scene_frame_ms=6634 on a second GPU.
  • Host image boot (measure-boot.sh host, on demand): store restored 126.0 s after the request; a GPU VM from the baked snapshot to first frame in 5969 ms.
  • terraform fmt -check fcvm-fleet.tf and python3 scripts/test-fcvm-fleet.py (51 tests): ok.

The phones themselves start once the agent has --phones 2; they are checked on staging after the apply.

… two GPUs a host

- fcvm_fleet_host_amis: ami-02ac54ae25a2312f9 (fcvm-fleet-host-x86_64-67d383ea-20261029),
with the phone image and the warm phone snapshot; its renderer enforces
direct-stream admission and the scene token.
- fcvm_fleet_tile_amis: ami-00a1fc37d63fbdad1 (fcvm-fleet-tile-x86_64-67d383ea-20261029),
the same renderer image, prefetch list traced again.
- fcvm_fleet_host_agent_args: --phones 2, so each host runs a phone on its
last two GPUs and the wall on the other six.
- scripts/test-fcvm-fleet.py: the agent arguments include --phones 2.
