Interview: advance phases only on answers; add full-content reads - #54
Conversation
The interview advanced its phase whenever a node of the right type
existed, including mid-turn from add_node, so a vague answer could close
its gap and move the interview on before the interviewer pushed back.
- Phase transitions run only after interview_answer records an answer.
interview_start no longer advances. Each transition needs >=1 answer in
the phase plus its node condition, or N answers (1/4/3/2) as a fallback.
- Nodes whose body has a `needs:` line don't satisfy node conditions;
commit warns about any still marked.
- interview_answer takes the exact `question` asked; it is stored on the
QA pair and in the AnswerRecorded journal entry's detail.
- interview_show {full: true} returns full bodies and fields, plus a
`needs` flag per node.
- graph_traverse implements edge_types and adds include_body.
- journal_search gains tags / references filters and a filter-only
mode (empty query), in both MCP and CLI.
- add_node / add_edge emit journal events; adjust reanalyzes with the
graph; source_qa points at the answer the node came from.
- Gap suggested_question text is a coverage hint, not a scripted question.
- Committed sessions are archived instead of deleted.

- `tempyr journal search` with no query, --tag, or --ref is a usage error instead of an empty "no hits" result. - Archiving the session after commit can no longer fail the commit (the graph is already written); it falls back to deleting the session and reports a warning, so a retry can't commit the same nodes twice. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Gap detection ignores nodes still marked `needs:`, so the gap keeps pointing at a weak answer instead of being cleared by it. - `tempyr interview commit` prints the commit warnings (needs: nodes, archive fallback) to stderr. - MCP journal_search returns a usage error for an empty query with no tags/references (matching the CLI), and its description documents the tag/reference filters and filter-only mode. Filter-only results are ranked by recency + kind, not strictly newest first; docs say so. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
