libvmi: vmi-process-list on the Ubuntu guest #321

Closed

Description

@Wenzel

Parent

#312

What to build

vmi-process-list walks the Ubuntu guest's process list through the ISF profile on top of libmicrovmi, confirming memory exploration is consistent with the guest.

Acceptance criteria

  • With the guest restored from base, the PID/name list matches ps -e inside the guest
  • Output identical over explicit MachineDebugger and explicit VBoxVMI

    Done. vbox-dev/libvmi-e2e.sh takes ps -e over ssh before and after vmi-process-list (guest restored from base): the missing and extra sets are empty (kworkers and PID 0 excluded, names cut to 15 chars). In the VBoxVMI case it runs MachineDebugger and VBoxVMI back to back and cmps the two lists; saved outputs in vbox-dev/e2e-out/ match.

    Branches are now published: libmicrovmi dev 628925d, rs-vboxvmi memory-views c4cfd5b, VirtualBox vmi/vboxvmi 2cd860d69eb, LibVMI libmicrovmi df47f48 (Wenzel/drakvuf#22).
