feat(web3): add swap/bridge/dapp module; slim wallet to primitives - #3006
Conversation
Split the two concerns the wallet module was carrying. The wallet is now basic — key/account management plus primitive on-chain operations — and a new `web3` module builds the higher-level DeFi surface on top of it. Wallet (slimmed): - Add BNB Chain (BEP20) as EvmNetwork::BscMainnet (chainId 56) + asset catalog. - Remove prepare_swap / prepare_contract_call (and the Swap/ContractCall PreparedKind variants) from the agent + RPC surface. - Add read-only tx inspection: tx_status / tx_receipt / lookup_tx per chain (EVM/BTC/Solana/Tron) as RPC controllers + agent tools. - Add crate-internal sign_and_broadcast_evm / sign_and_broadcast_solana primitives (sign+broadcast an externally-built unsigned transaction; the Solana path re-signs a deBridge VersionedTransaction blob). Not agent/RPC. web3 (new, src/openhuman/web3/): - Three sub-modules over a shared deBridge backend client + quote store: web3_swap (single-chain swaps), web3_bridge (cross-chain DLN bridges), web3_dapp (generic EVM contract calls). Quotes return a quoteId; the matching *_execute confirms and signs via the wallet primitives. - Wired into the controller registry (core/all.rs) and agent toolset (tools/ops.rs); crypto_agent allowlist + loader tests updated. Docs/catalog: rewrite wallet README, add web3 README, update about_app catalog. Tests: per-chain tx-read + Solana re-sign + EVM raw-sign unit tests, web3 ops/ store/types tests, and a json_rpc_e2e round-trip for wallet tx-reads + web3 gates; existing e2e updated for BNB Chain.

📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThis PR introduces a complete web3 module for DeFi operations (swaps, bridges, generic dapp calls) alongside new transaction inspection APIs for reading on-chain transaction status, receipts, and lookups across BTC, EVM, Solana, and Tron chains. It adds Binance Smart Chain (BSC) network support and refactors wallet execution to expose internal signing primitives that web3 uses. ChangesWeb3 DeFi and Wallet Transaction Inspection

1-4: ⚡ Quick winUpdate module rustdoc to include BSC support.
The module docs still describe EVM coverage as Ethereum + L2s only; this change now includes BSC mainnet and should be documented to keep runtime behavior/docs aligned.
As per coding guidelines: "Ship new/changed behavior with matching rustdoc comments in Rust; update AGENTS.md or architecture docs when rules or user-visible behavior change".

482-505: ⚡ Quick winAdd BSC-specific unit coverage for defaults and catalog.
Please add tests that assert BSC chain ID (56), RPC/env/explorer mapping, and BEP20 token metadata (symbols/decimals/contracts). This will guard against regressions in newly added network wiring.

unconfirmed mempool BTC transactions to be reported as failed; update the
TxReceiptInfo construction (the block that uses the local variable confirmed) so
success is left unset for unconfirmed txs — i.e., only set success = Some(true)
when confirmed is true and otherwise set success = None — so pending state is
represented via tx_status and not as a failure.
In `@src/openhuman/wallet/chains/evm.rs`:
- Around line 268-282: When eth_getTransactionReceipt returns null in the block
handling receipt in evm.rs, don't immediately set found: false; instead call
eth_getTransactionByHash (same rpc_call_to with "eth_getTransactionByHash") as
the tx_status fallback: if that call returns a non-null value, return a
TxReceiptInfo with chain: WalletChain::Evm, evm_network: Some(network), hash:
hash.to_string(), found: true, success: None, block_number: None, gas_used:
None, fee_raw: None, raw: the tx JSON (or keep serde_json::Value::Null if you
prefer) to represent a pending transaction; only set found: false when both
eth_getTransactionReceipt and eth_getTransactionByHash are null. Ensure this
logic is implemented where receipt is checked and mirrors the existing tx_status
fallback behavior.

- Around line 172-186: The decode_shortvec function can parse up to 3 bytes into
a u32 then cast to u16, which silently truncates values > u16::MAX and can
corrupt offsets used by sign_and_broadcast_versioned; change decode_shortvec to
validate the accumulated value before casting: whenever you would return
Ok((value as u16, ...)) (inside the byte-with-0x80==0 branch and after the loop
if reachable) first check if value > u16::MAX (0xFFFF) and return Err("shortvec
overflow") (or similar) if so, otherwise safely cast to u16; keep the existing
max-length check (i >= 3) and error messages but ensure the overflow check
prevents truncation used by sign_and_broadcast_versioned.

"value": hash })) and inspect the returned object: if that call returns a
non-empty object (tx exists but no receipt) return TxStatusInfo with state =
TxState::Pending and block_number = None, otherwise keep TxState::NotFound;
preserve existing logic for receipt/result parsing and ensure errors from
tron_post propagate as before. Use the existing functions/structs (tx_status,

the swap_tx and bridge_tx functions to build a small redacted log payload (or

hex payload length (calldata.len() - 2) is even, and (3) validate that every
character after "0x" is a valid hex digit, returning a clear Err like "calldata

(e.g., execute_requires_confirmation, execute_unknown_quote_is_not_found,
store_quote_is_retained_and_counted) to serialize access by using a test-level
mutex or a test serializing crate (e.g., serial_test) or else change assertions

other tests.

test helper login or obtain/set the session cookie/Authorization header used
elsewhere in tests) so the RPC handler proceeds to gate logic, then assert on
gate-specific failure details (inspect the JSON-RPC error object returned by
post_json_rpc and assert error.code or error.message indicates "same-chain" for
openhuman.web3_bridge_quote and an unsignable-chain/wallet-signing error for
openhuman.web3_swap_quote) rather than just error.is_some(); reference
post_json_rpc, rpc_base, openhuman.web3_bridge_quote and
openhuman.web3_swap_quote when making these changes.

The wallet module was doing two jobs at once: the low-level multi-chain key/sign/broadcast layer and half-built higher-level DeFi affordances (
prepare_swapagainst a caller-supplied router, genericprepare_contract_call). Swaps were quote-only with no real routing or cross-chain capability. Meanwhile the backend shipped a standardized cross-chain swap/bridge surface backed by deBridge DLN (/agent-integrations/crypto/{routes,swap,bridge}, backend PR #852) that returns ready-to-sign unsigned transactions, with nothing consuming it.Solution
to/data/value; Solana hexVersionedTransaction); the web3 layer resolves the caller's wallet address, calls the backend proxy, and stores a TTL'd, chat-thread-owner-bound quote (same security model as the wallet quote store). On execute it hands the unsigned tx to the wallet's crate-internal signer — keys never leave the wallet.web3_swaprejects cross-chain requests (→web3_bridge);web3_bridgerejects same-chain requests; chain ids the wallet can't sign for are rejected at quote time. deBridge responses are passed through asserde_json::Valuefor fields not explicitly consumed, so upstream shape changes don't break deserialization.Submission Checklist
