Switchify Remote wants automatic scanning to stay on the control the user chose while the pointer is repeating.

  • holdMovement(reason, held) keeps movement held until every reason is released.
  • setSwitchHeld is now the "switch" reason, so releasing a switch cannot cancel another hold.
  • Tested, documented, and bumped to 0.5.0.

Validation

  • npm test: 64 tests pass. npm run lint is clean.

[Medium impact] Safe to merge. Automatic scanning remains on the chosen control while any movement reason is held and resumes after the final release.

T-Rex evidence

Evidence from the check

  • The executed harness loads revision-specific source and asserts overlapping holds, duplicate calls, release orders, and precise interval resumption, making the validation reproducible.

Evidence from the check

  • The executed runner invokes the same harness for base and head and saves actual output with command, working directory, and exit code, preserving traceable comparison evidence.

Command output from the check

  • Ran six deterministic switch-only scenarios against base source; all passed, and the capture explicitly shows that overlapping application holds are unavailable before the change.

Command output from the check

  • Ran 48 deterministic scenarios against head source; all retained the chosen highlight while held and resumed at the exact remaining interval, with no reproduced failure.

Summary

Adds holdMovement(reason, held) so apps can pause automatic scanning for several independent reasons.
