TypeRacer (Qt GUI)

TypeRacer is a speed-typing game built using C++ and Qt. It aims to improve the user's typing speed and accuracy. The game displays words, provides real-time color-coded feedback during typing, and calculates your typing speed in Words Per Minute (WPM).

Key Features

  • Graphical User Interface (GUI): A clean window built with Qt.
  • Balanced Difficulty: A custom algorithm calculates the complexity score of each word (considering length and difficult characters like õ, ä, ö, ü) and selects 10 words to ensure a balanced overall difficulty per session.
  • Real-Time Feedback: Input text is automatically colored green (correct) or red (incorrect/missing), providing instant visual feedback.
  • Accurate Statistics: Displays total time, total errors, total characters and WPM at the end of the game.

How to Play

You don't need to install any programming software or compile the code to play the game.

Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Releases section on the right side of this GitHub page.
  2. Download the latest archive named typeracer.zip.
  3. Extract the downloaded ZIP file into a folder of your choice. (Note: Ensure that the sonad.txt file remains in the exact same folder as TypeRacerGUI.exe after extraction).
  4. Double-click TypeRacerGUI.exe to launch the game. Click "Start Game" and enjoy!
