Mobile Technical Lead at Midwest Tape. I lead the mobile team that builds hoopla, a digital media platform for public libraries.
What I'm working on
- The ground-up rewrite of the hoopla Android and iOS apps on Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform. The mobile staff engineer and I split the architecture and technical direction evenly, a two-person effort. The team shipped a feature-complete beta in 5 weeks and production in 10. The apps now serve 1M+ sessions a day at 99.8%+ crash-free on both platforms.
- An AI-first workflow for the mobile team. Claude Code runs in the daily loop, and agent-written pull requests meet the same review bar as human ones.
- The D3 Stat Lab, a site that publishes a daily NCAA Power Index (NPI) and season simulations for Division III women's basketball. Source in scottpeterson.github.io.
- d3-schools, a Python package for the ~440 NCAA Division III schools. It maps every naming variant across Massey, D3hoops, and NCAA stats to one canonical identity.
Open source
- Contributor to the 5 Calls Android app: 9 merged pull requests, including deep links, starred issues, undo call response, and crash fixes.
Data I keep for fun
Spreadsheets on NFL draft history and franchise trajectories, fantasy baseball batted-ball data, golf world rankings and major finishes, Division III basketball resumes and strength of schedule, books, and the marginal value of a burger.
