Both READMEs get a centred banner, badges and a Mermaid flowchart of the version / evaluate / select loop in place of the ASCII diagram. The banner is referenced by its raw GitHub URL so the package README also renders on PyPI, and the PNG is quantized to 256 colours (1.2 MB to 184 KB, visually lossless). Spelling is normalized to VeRO throughout, and the root README keeps its sentence on the inference gateway.

The PR appears safe to merge, with only the existing non-blocking concern about the overly broad selectability claim still outstanding.

### Issue 1
README.md:30-32
The statement that every scored candidate stays selectable overstates the selection contract. Winner selection only considers reachable, feasible records scored on the configured selection set, so candidates scored for trials or final evaluation-and candidates that fail constraints-are not necessarily selectable. The package README repeats this unconditional claim at `vero/README.md:36-37`, which may give users the wrong expectations about candidate history.

For each issue above, determine whether it is valid and should be fixed. If so, fix it directly.

Summary

  • Adds optimized banner and loop image assets plus the editable Excalidraw source.
  • Uses repository-relative image paths in the root README and raw GitHub URLs in the package README for PyPI compatibility.
  • Corrects the benchmark directory link in the package README.

The banner is referenced by its raw GitHub URL so the package README renders
on PyPI too, and is quantized to 256 colours (1.2 MB -> 184 KB, PSNR 43.6 dB).
The root README keeps its one sentence on the inference gateway, which the
replaced ASCII diagram used to carry.

An image renders on GitHub and PyPI alike, where the Mermaid block only
rendered on GitHub. loop.excalidraw is the source; loop.png is its 2x export.
