Overview

Added Pantry Alchemy, a React-based recipe discovery experience that helps users discover recipes based on ingredients available in their pantry.

What was added

• Ingredient autocomplete with Open Food Facts taxonomy suggestions.
• Multi-select ingredient search using Material UI Autocomplete.
• Debounced API requests to provide ingredient suggestions efficiently.
• Recipe search using the Edamam Recipe API based on selected ingredients.
• Responsive horizontal recipe slider with scroll snapping.
• Recipe cards with:
  • Recipe images
  • Recipe titles
  • Ingredient summaries
  • Expandable health-benefit chips
  • Links to the original recipe source
• Loading states for ingredient and recipe searches.
• Responsive green-themed UI designed around the Pantry Alchemy concept.
• API credentials moved to environment variables instead of being hardcoded in the codebase.

Notes

• Recipe results depend on the Edamam API response and availability.

• Tested recipe retrieval with multiple ingredients.
• Tested expandable health labels and horizontal recipe scrolling.
• Verified responsive behavior across different viewport sizes.
