The PyPI project already has the under-limit v0.6.1 release. Its owner-visible settings show a 100 MiB per-file limit, a 10 GiB total limit, and current project usage of 44.6 MiB.
The next release adds separate wheels for Linux ARM64 and Linux AMD64 alongside Apple Silicon. These wheels embed the already published platform-native archives, including the application, product sidecars, their required pinned Node runtime, and the bundled GTK/WebKit/native shared-library closure. This supports installation and application operation without post-install runtime downloads.
The measured public native archives that the wheels must carry are:
These are native-archive measurements, not claimed final wheel measurements. The wheels add the Python launcher, manifests, license notices and description. Hosted wheel construction and installed-consumer qualification are in progress; the requested limit provides packaging headroom above the largest existing native archive.
The distribution is split by platform and architecture. A per-file increase to 250 MiB is sufficient for this release; the existing project-total quota is sufficient.
PyPI support is one paid staffer, plus volunteers, plus whatever part-time hours other PSF staff have to give. Often that's zero. If you'd like to help fund more staffing, the PSF takes donations at https://www.python.org/psf/donations/. Either way, someone will get to your request eventually.
