mapget 2026.4.3

Patch release based on the published mapget 2026.4.2 baseline.

Added

  • Allow tiles to carry warnings in addition to errors (MAPGET-198).

Improved

  • Retry temporarily unavailable datasources during startup and cloud warm-up (MAPV-351, MAPV-279).
  • Refresh failed and initially empty tiles after configurable TTLs instead of caching them indefinitely (MAPGET-122).
  • Switch native Linux services to jemalloc so fragmented memory can be returned to the operating system (MAPGET-190).

Fixed

  • Keep shared tile work active until its final consumer leaves, while treating abandoned requests as cancellation rather than tile failure (ERD-489).

Compatibility Notes

  • The binary stream protocol advances from 5.1 to 5.2. Binary clients and datasource processes must upgrade together; protocol 5.2 adds tile warnings. Error and empty-tile expiry reuse the existing timestamp/TTL fields.
  • Error and successful-empty tile values expire after at most five seconds by default. Configure these limits with mapget.serve.error-tile-ttl and mapget.serve.empty-tile-ttl.

Release preparation

  • Branch from v2026.4.2 and bump the default mapget version to 2026.4.3.
  • Implement the release scope.
  • Resolve or re-run the remaining Python 3.12 manylinux check.
  • Merge and publish v2026.4.3 after approval.

Forward cooperative cancellation through datasource fills and remote clients. Attach coalesced consumers before admission, detach abandoned jobs monotonically, and guard late completion against replacement work. Cover closed-admission consumers, pruning, aborts and cached replacement results.
Keep allocator interposition executable-only so model libraries, WASM and Python imports remain non-invasive. Enable background purging, retain glibc trimming only for the active glibc allocator, distinguish live allocations from RSS and virtual retention, and test allocator selection, cross-thread frees and idle purging.
Retain failed tiles and propagate dependency diagnostics and expiry per filter output. Expose error-tile-ttl through the CLI, YAML and embedded service APIs. Remove runtime retry hints and advance the binary protocol to 5.5.

Consolidate the final warnings layout into one minor bump from 5.1 instead of reserving development-branch versions. Update the model documentation and cover incompatible major and neighboring minor cache versions.
