app_fill on a view that takes no keys says so, not that iOS dropped one (CHALLENGES 318) - #209

…ne (CHALLENGES 318) MobiumApp's Slider Demo on iOS is a plain XCUIElementTypeOther with no trait and no value, so app_fill typed "0.2" into it, read back nothing three times, and blamed a dropped keystroke (CHALLENGES 61) — a cause that was not the case and a retry that could never work. When not one key landed and the target is no text field by its type, the failure is unsupported, says what the target is, and names app_swipe from its thumb as the remedy. Measured on the iPhone 17 Pro simulator: the fill is refused and the remedy, followed, set Volume to 70. A text field that reads back empty keeps the keystroke rule. ROADMAP's slider entry records the measurement.

MobiumApp's Slider Demo on iOS is a plain
XCUIElementTypeOtherwith no trait and no value (its slider library reports no slider), soapp_fill testid=volumeSlider 0.2typed "0.2" into it, read back nothing three times, and failed with "iOS dropped a keystroke" — CHALLENGES 61's cause, which was not the case, and a retry that could never work. When not one key landed and the target is no text field by its type, the failure is now
unsupported, says what the target is, and namesapp_swipefrom its thumb as the remedy. A text field that reads back empty keeps the keystroke rule.Measured on the iPhone 17 Pro simulator (iOS 26.5): the fill is refused with the app untouched, and the remedy, followed literally, set Volume to 70. A new test fails on the old code. CHALLENGES 318; ROADMAP's slider entry records the measurement (a drag lands Volume exactly, Balance at 0.28 for 0.25).
