[Question] Future of Microsoft Business Central NuGet Symbol Feeds After Azure DevOps Public Projects Retirement in 2027 #8365

Open

Description

Microsoft has announced the retirement of Azure DevOps public projects in 2027, including the removal of anonymous access to public Azure Artifacts feeds.

The AL Language preview extension v30.0.2863738 contains references to the following feeds:

  • DynamicsBCPublicFeeds/_packaging/MSSymbolsV2
  • DynamicsBCPublicFeeds/_packaging/AppSourceSymbols

These feeds appear to be used for downloading Business Central symbols, including through the AL: Download Symbols from Global Sources feature.

Questions:

  1. Will these feeds remain publicly accessible after the 2027 retirement?
  2. Is Microsoft planning to migrate them to another public NuGet service?
  3. If authentication becomes required, how will AL developers and automated build pipelines access these feeds?
  4. Is there an expected timeline for these changes?

An official clarification would help developers and partners prepare for any required changes to their development and CI/CD workflows.
