Fix storefront form actions behind Railway's proxy - #86
On barrio.lambdacurry.dev, every form action fails and the page goes white: newsletter signup, region switch, add to cart, and checkout too.
React Router checks each action against cross-site forgery by comparing the Origin header to the request URL. Railway terminates HTTPS and forwards plain HTTP to the container. react-router-serve builds the request URL from Express's req.protocol, and since it never enables trust proxy, that's always http. So the browser's Origin: https://barrio.lambdacurry.dev never matches http://barrio.lambdacurry.dev, and every action comes back as a 400 "Unexpected Server Error".
You can see this on the live site: the same POST succeeds with an http:// Origin and fails with an https:// one. It works locally and in e2e because there's no proxy in between.
Then the root ErrorBoundary rendered a <body> with only <Scripts /> in it, so the error showed up as a blank page.
Changes
apps/storefront/server.js: a small Express server that does what react-router-serve did (compression, cached /assets, static files, request logging, PORT/HOST, graceful shutdown) and also sets trust proxy. start and start:dev now run it. @react-router/serve is swapped for @react-router/express, express, compression and morgan, all at the versions already in the lockfile.
Root ErrorBoundary: now shows "Something went wrong" (or "Page not found" for 404s) with a "Back to home" link. The link is a plain <a>, so it does a full page reload.
README: explains why the storefront has its own server.
The CSRF protection stays on. Cross-site origins are still rejected.
Testing
biome ci . and storefront typecheck pass.
Ran the production build with node server.js and a production Docker build of apps/storefront/Dockerfile (yarn start in the container), then posted to the newsletter action:
Assets are still served with max-age=31536000, immutable, and /api/health/live returns 200 in the container.
The error page now has content instead of a blank screen. "Before" is the live site right after submitting the newsletter form. "After" is the new boundary, triggered here by an unreachable backend.
Before (live, after newsletter submit)
After (desktop)
After (mobile)
This won't reach Barrio until Railway auto-deploy is working again. It hasn't deployed since July.
Railway terminates HTTPS and forwards plain HTTP. react-router-serve
can't trust X-Forwarded-Proto, so React Router saw http:// request URLs,
the https:// Origin header never matched, and its CSRF check rejected
every action (newsletter, region switch, add to cart, checkout).
Run the storefront on a small Express server with `trust proxy` instead,
and give the root ErrorBoundary visible content so errors no longer
render a blank page.

Walkthrough
The storefront now uses a custom Express server that trusts forwarded proxy headers and passes requests to React Router. Its error boundary displays distinct messages for 404 route errors and other errors.

Summary
Express server and React Router integration apps/storefront/package.json, apps/storefront/server.js
The start scripts launch server.js. The server configures Express, trusts proxy headers, enables compression, and routes remaining requests to React Router.
Static files and server lifecycle apps/storefront/server.js, README.md
The server sets static-file cache lifetimes, logs requests, listens on the configured host and port, and closes on termination signals. The deployment section describes proxy-header handling.
Set the production mode explicitly and render one error-page title before merging. The remaining impact is bounded, but both fixes are straightforward.

Explanation
The title "Fix storefront form actions behind Railway's proxy" matches the main change. The PR replaces react-router-serve with an Express server that trusts X-Forwarded-* headers, so React Router's Origin/CSRF check accepts HTTPS form submissions behind Railway's TLS-terminating proxy. The title names the storefront, the form actions, and the Railway proxy context, which are the core of the change. The title does not mention the error page update, but that is a secondary change.

Render the error title after route metadata
Whenever this root boundary renders, <Meta /> also emits the root route's Barrio Store title from getRootMeta after the error-specific <title>. This leaves competing document titles and can cause tabs, search engines, and assistive technology to identify 404 and error pages by the normal storefront title; render the boundary title after <Meta /> or omit the root title metadata here.

react-router-serve defaulted NODE_ENV to production; the custom server
now does too, before React loads. The root ErrorBoundary drops <Meta />
so the root route's title doesn't render next to the error title.
