peer handshake: a repeat handshake must not rewrite a live peer link's endpoints (SSRF allowance) - #4110
CARD TITLE (intent, not commit subject): peer handshake: a repeat handshake must not rewrite a live peer link's endpoints (SSRF allowance)
Autonomous build of board card tsk-gevaej.
tsk-gevaej: peer handshake must not rewrite live peer link endpoints
Fixed
POST /api/peer/handshake no longer overwrites a live or revoked peer link's
endpoints with values from a repeat handshake envelope; only the first
handshake's endpoints (filtered to valid http/https URLs with hostnames) are
stored, preventing SSRF allowance manipulation.

Docs-Reviewed: Bug fix for SSRF allowance manipulation in peer handshake; no API surface change, only internal validation logic hardened.
The handshake route filters endpoint URLs on first contact. For an existing peer link, it keeps the recorded endpoints instead of replacing them with endpoints from a later handshake.
The route normalizes endpoint entries and retains only entries with string URLs that use HTTP or HTTPS and include a hostname. A regression test checks that malformed entries and unsupported schemes are dropped.
Preserve recorded peer endpoints tinyagentos/routes/peer.py, tests/test_peer_handshake_two_controller.py, changelog.d/tsk-gevaej-handshake-keeps-recorded-endpoints.md
Existing peer links reuse their stored endpoints during later handshakes. Tests cover repeated handshakes and a handshake after revocation. The changelog records the endpoint behavior.
jaylfc/taOS#3705: Adds collaboration kill-switch checks to the same peer handshake route.
Merge Risk: Low · up to 759b5
The endpoint-preservation change is mergeable with a small test improvement: require a successful post-revocation handshake so the regression test exercises endpoint preservation. The unchanged friend-accept overwrite remains a separate security follow-up.

Keep recorded endpoints when re-accepting a peer link.
310-320: Major · Security & Privacy · Quick win
Keep recorded endpoints when re-accepting a peer link.
_try_handshake writes the directory's endpoints on every friend-accept. Its only guard is the block edge, so it never checks for an existing peer_links row. A repeat accept for a live or revoked contact replaces the stored endpoints. Those endpoints then set the outbound POST targets and the SSRF allowance built by known_hostports. Read the existing link first and keep its endpoints when one exists. For a first link, apply the same http/https hostname filter that routes/peer.py uses. Move that filter into routes/hub.py. routes/peer.py already imports from routes/hub.py, so importing the filter back into hub would create a circular import.
This overwrite exists at the merge base (021fed147b6b). This PR does not change routes/hub.py, so it predates the change and leaves the path reachable.
Suggested fix

Review comment at @tinyagentos/routes/peer.py around lines 310 - 320:
Update _try_handshake in routes/hub.py to reuse stored endpoints when a peer
link already exists, and filter directory endpoints with the shared
_safe_endpoints helper for first links. Move _safe_endpoints out of
routes/peer.py into routes/hub.py, based on _normalize_endpoints, and update
routes/peer.py to import it from hub without creating a circular import.
Require a 200 on the post-revocation re-handshake.
Require a 200 on the post-revocation re-handshake.
This scenario returns 200, not 403. The test seeds the request-out edge and never sets a block edge. Revoking the link does not change hub edges. The earlier handshakes in this test and in the repeat-handshake test already assert 200 with the same helpers. Because the assertion also accepts 403, a regression that rejects post-revocation handshakes with 403 would still pass. That regression would also skip the endpoint-preservation path, which this test is meant to cover.

Update the post-revocation handshake assertion using _post_handshake to require
status 200, so the test exercises the successful re-handshake path before
checking that endpoints remain unchanged.

Lead adjudication on head 759b5fd: CodeRabbit's Major (hub.py _try_handshake rewrites peer link endpoints on every friend-accept) is verified on this head, but it is pre-existing at the merge base and outside this PR's diff (peer.py only). Not a blocker for this PR. Carried as follow-up card tsk-ibcysh (held until this merges): move _safe_endpoints into hub.py and keep recorded endpoints on repeat accept.
