Implement Time::HiRes::stat #1912

Closed

Description

@fglock

Summary

Time::HiRes::stat is missing from PerlOnJava. Daiku 1.004 calls it from Daiku::File and Daiku::SuffixRule; the CPAN test run then aborts with Undefined subroutine &Time::HiRes::stat.

Reproducer

use Time::HiRes ();
my @stat = Time::HiRes::stat(".");
print scalar(@stat), "\n";

System Perl 5.42.2 succeeds. PerlOnJava fails with Undefined subroutine &Time::HiRes::stat on both JVM and interpreter backends. The shared Time::HiRes runtime registers time, sleep, gettimeofday, and related functions, but not stat.

CPAN evidence

  • Distribution: Daiku 1.004
  • CPAN run: 20261027-085020-3852
  • Failing files include t/01_simple.t, t/02_rule.t, t/03_declare.t, t/04_file.t, t/07_suffix_deps.t, t/07_suffix_deps_multi.t, t/09_daikufile.t, and t/15_suffix_deps_code.t.
  • System Perl suite: PASS, 20 files / 107 tests
  • PerlOnJava: fails on both backends with the missing function
  • Environment: macOS arm64, Perl 5.42.2, OpenJDK 24.0.2; source commit 9f7bcb92beb8310ba4ca572ee1a640cbbbf1ba9f

Daiku itself has no XS/C code; its included eg/c/foo.c is an example, not a native module prerequisite.
