Support the experimental::for_list warnings category #1208

Closed

Description

Summary

CPANSEC::Admin 0.001 cannot load on either PerlOnJava backend because the runtime rejects the valid warning category experimental::for_list.

Reproduction

  • CPAN random run: 20260831-214225-16920
  • Distribution: CPANSEC::Admin 0.001
  • Failing tests: t/001-basic.t, t/002-getopt.t, t/003-publish.t

The distribution uses no warnings qw(experimental::for_list) alongside Perl's experimental class feature.

Results

  • System Perl accepts use warnings "experimental::for_list".
  • PerlOnJava JVM backend: all 3 test programs fail before producing TAP.
  • PerlOnJava interpreter backend: all 3 test programs fail before producing TAP.

Observed error:

Unknown warnings category 'experimental::for_list'

This is a PerlOnJava warnings-category compatibility gap, not a CPANSEC::Admin behavior failure.

    Claim update: implementing experimental::for_list warning compatibility for issue #1208. Included in PR #1936: #1936. Validation passed: nice -n19 make, make check-links, and focused JVM/interpreter unit tests. No current blocker; awaiting review and CI.
