Why

#87 shipped first-class Grok Build and Grok Bot manifests, .grok-plugin/marketplace.json, and local assets/logo.svg paths. The project-local verification skill from #86 still treated those hosts as an expected skip. Agents that follow the Feature Map would report a skip on a real catalog.

Scope

  • control-marketplace.mjs treats Grok as a marketplace key beside Claude and Codex. doctor parses .grok-plugin/marketplace.json. info sets surfaces.grokBuild / surfaces.grokBot from files on disk. list / inspect expose grok and grokBuild manifests. check-install --surface grok checks marketplace names, local sources, per-plugin logos, Grok Bot / Grok Build manifests, and README/CONTRIBUTING needles. Skip on that surface fails prove --feature grok-build-and-bot.
  • Feature map and SKILL.md move Grok from a later/skip slot into Catalog, Install, Docs, and the validation harness.
  • Claude and Codex proveSteps are unchanged.

Out of scope: plugin manifests, marketplace JSON, logos, and release-please.

Tradeoffs

Thin wiring on the existing lever instead of a new skill or a Grok-only CLI. Grok Bot and Grok Build share .grok-plugin/marketplace.json.

Blast Radius

Agents that run verify-marketplace after a catalog change. doctor now fails if the Grok marketplace is missing or invalid JSON. check-install --surface grok fails instead of skip. Published plugins are unchanged.

Verification

Recorded drive: prove --feature grok-build-and-bot (committed proof/drive.md). Result pass. Steps: doctor, info, list, check-install-grok. No skipFailure. Inventory: 24 plugin directories, root/Claude/Codex/Grok catalogs 24/24/24/24. 24 Grok sources and 24 logos resolved.

Claude and Codex recipes still pass to temp --out:

  • prove --feature marketplace-catalog (doctor, info, list, check-install-claude)
  • prove --feature codex-install (doctor, check-install-codex)

cleanup --dry-run retained proof/. inspect anyrouter showed .grok-plugin/plugin.json, .grok-build-plugin/plugin.json, source ./anyrouter, logo assets/logo.svg.

Lint: first head failed MARKDOWN_PRETTIER on a blank line at EOF in drive.md. renderProofMarkdown now emits one trailing newline. Re-prove is Prettier-clean.

Summary by Sourcery

Treat Grok Bot and Grok Build as fully supported marketplace surfaces in verification and proof workflows.

New Features:

  • Add first-class verification for Grok Bot and Grok Build marketplace catalogs, manifests, local sources, logos, and documented install paths.
  • Expose Grok catalog and manifest coverage through marketplace inspection, inventory, and proof commands.

Bug Fixes:

  • Prevent Grok verification from incorrectly reporting a real catalog as an expected skip.
  • Fail Grok proof drives when checks are skipped instead of treating skipped coverage as success.

Enhancements:

  • Promote Grok Build and Grok Bot from a placeholder feature to active Catalog, Install, Docs, and validation-harness coverage.
  • Extend marketplace diagnostics with Grok counts, surface status, catalog gaps, manifest filters, and resolvability checks.

Documentation:

  • Update the verification skill, feature map, and proof guidance for Grok marketplace installation and validation.

Tests:

  • Record a passing Grok verification drive covering doctor, info, list, and check-install checks while preserving Claude and Codex proof recipes.

Chores:

  • Bump the verification controller version to 1.1.0.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added marketplace verification support for Grok Build and Grok Bot.
    • Added validation for Grok marketplace catalogs, plugin manifests, installation paths, source files, and logos.
    • Added Grok-specific command filters, status reporting, catalog checks, and proof verification.
    • Updated version information to 1.1.0.
  • Documentation

    • Documented Grok marketplace installation, supported surfaces, metadata requirements, troubleshooting, and validation procedures.
    • Updated user-facing navigation and verification evidence to include Grok Build and Grok Bot.

#87 shipped the Grok marketplace, per-plugin manifests, and local logos.
The verification lever still reported an expected skip. Doctor, info, list,
and check-install now cover .grok-plugin/marketplace.json, Grok Bot and
Grok Build manifests, source paths, and assets/logo.svg. prove --feature
grok-build-and-bot fails if that surface skips.

The current verifier can certify incomplete Grok manifests, omit required Grok Build or Codex parity checks, and accept asset/path inputs outside the declared local contract; merge should wait until these validation rules are aligned and enforced.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Validate Grok manifest content before reporting success.

Lines 878-900 only test that each manifest file exists and parses. A manifest containing {} sets plugin.grok or plugin.grokBuild to true, so check-install --surface grok and prove --feature grok-build-and-bot can pass.

The existing scripts/validate-plugins.sh contract requires manifest metadata, local logos, and valid relative resource paths. Apply equivalent scoped checks here, or run that validator as a required Grok proof step. This also prevents proof/drive.json and proof/drive.md from recording unsupported success claims.

Resolve the local-versus-remote Grok logo contract.

Restore Codex to the catalog count parity check.

Include Grok Build in the manifest parity contract.

This file requires .grok-build-plugin/plugin.json, but both the parity rule and the expected validation label name only Claude, Codex, Grok, and Antigravity. A verifier can therefore accept a parity result without explicitly confirming Grok Build fields. Name Grok Build in the contract, and make the label match the validator output.

Do not record a missing Grok CLI as a skipped Grok proof.

This rule lists an unavailable grok binary as a skipped path. The Grok feature requires check-install --surface grok and prove --feature grok-build-and-bot to complete without skipped checks. Limit this rule to paths outside the Grok proof, or state that a missing grok binary is tolerated without creating a skipped check.

In @.cursor/skills/verify-marketplace/references/features/README.md around lines
26 - 27, Update the README guidance so missing Grok CLI handling does not mark
the Grok proof as skipped: require check-install --surface grok and prove
--feature grok-build-and-bot to complete without skipped checks, while limiting
the tolerated unreachable-path rule to paths outside the Grok proof.

After applying the fix, consider running `coderabbit review --agent` for local
