We study non-Newtonian free-surface flows and soft-matter singularities. The group sits at the intersection of applied mathematics, fluid mechanics, and direct numerical simulation, and develops open-source codes and theory for soft-matter phenomena across length and time scales.

- Drop impact and forces — inertia, viscosity, wettability, and rheology in impact, rebound, and soft-sphere analogues
- Bubbles and singularities — capillary-wave focusing, Worthington jets, and pinch-off in Newtonian and complex fluids
- Sheets and films — hole nucleation, Taylor–Culick retraction, and film rupture
- Open-source DNS — Basilisk C extensions for viscoelastic, viscoplastic, and elastoviscoplastic multiphase flow
Current interests include mycofluidic transport, non-Newtonian effects on hydrodynamic singularities, and respiratory-droplet formation driven by viscoelastic mucus rheology.
