chore(brand): add full-bleed square app icon - #1279
Conversation
The favicon's notched corners are transparent, so GitHub renders them as white boxes where it shows the App logo (e.g. PR checks). This adds a square variant for app-store style logos: same chevron, solid background to the edges. Summary
The favicon (
apps/web/public/favicon.svg) has notched, transparent pixel corners. Where GitHub shows the App logo on a dark background (e.g. the "Check for visuals" row in PR checks), those corners render as white boxes. This adds a full-bleed square variant for logo slots like the GitHub App:
assets/app-icon.svg: same 32-unit grid and chevron as the favicon, with a solid#121214square instead of the notched path.assets/app-icon.png: 1024×1024 RGB (no alpha), nearest-neighbour upscale so the pixels stay crisp.Existing favicons, apple-touch icon and
assets/logo.pngare unchanged.Applying it
GitHub App logos are set by hand: GitHub → Settings → Developer settings → GitHub Apps → uploads.sh → Edit → Display information → Upload a logo, then pick
assets/app-icon.png.Generated by Claude Code
