Device Verification (uinput)

The following checks were performed to ensure that Solaar works correctly with the uinput kernel module.

1. /dev/uinput Permissions

Run the following command to verify that the device file exists and has the correct permissions:

ls -l /dev/uinput

Expected Output:

crw-rw----+ 1 root root 10, 223 sep 30 16:51 /dev/uinput

2. Kernel Module Status

Check if the uinput module is successfully loaded into the system:

lsmod | grep uinput

Expected Output:

uinput 20480 1

3. Solaar Status

Finally, verify that Solaar recognizes the device without throwing initialization errors:

solaar show

Note

The error cannot create uinput device: "/dev/uinput" does not exist
should disappear after running this final command.
