Summary
macos-15, which provides compatible Xcode versions for all three compiler versions. Why
The latest Swift run fails for macOS Swift 6.0/6.1 because
macos-latestsupplies a newer Xcode SDK. Linux and macOS Swift 6.2 pass. Pinning both the runner and SDK prevents the default Xcode upgrade from mixing incompatible compiler/SDK generations.Availability and pairing checked against GitHub's macOS 15 runner inventory and Apple's Xcode requirements. This avoids macOS 14, which is scheduled to become unsupported on November 2, 2026.
Validation
af0d77580fd8b66cc87b8b22dcf758f0fb39c6de: all six macOS/Linux build-and-test jobs are green.
