Qualify full macOS 12 package native CTest suite after compile/link fixes #914

Description

@wieslawsoltes

Exact regression gate

After WebScene #908 / PR #909 removed the macOS 12 floating charconv compile failure and #910 / PR #911 repaired the native WebSocket test link, NuGet Build osx-arm64 at stack head c722b5d3 (job 106638277075) compiled and linked the full native runtime. CTest passed 84 of 91 tests, then exited 8. The new focused webscene_native_form_charconv_portability_tests passed. These seven failures are now visible because earlier package jobs stopped before tests. Do not classify them as introduced by the two portability fixes without same-profile attribution.

CTest Observed failure Existing owner / next investigation
#49 webscene_native_engine_tests Segfault after cross-origin SecurityError in datafeed-symbol-search-result.js #267 / #264: isolate the frame access and crash with the package runtime profile.
#70 webscene_native_file_system_access Write after close did not reject TypeError #248: isolate writable-handle closed-state transition.
#74 webscene_native_top_level_navigation_lifecycle Host navigation reached before queued beforeunload/pagehide tasks #267 / #260: order lifecycle task delivery before host callback.
#75 webscene_native_service_worker_parser_resources Segfault after parser/frame cycles exceeded 64 MiB RSS growth #243 / #267: profile retained parser/frame/worker state; keep the 64 MiB gate.
#79 webscene_hybrid_v8_runtime_tests crypto.subtle undefined #102: check secure-context/provider bootstrap in the package profile.
#80 webscene_worker_object_url_tests Terminated Worker wrappers exhausted execution capacity #81: isolate worker capacity/release lifecycle.
#82 webscene_webcrypto_aes_gcm_tests crypto.subtle undefined #102: same provider/bootstrap diagnosis as #79.

Acceptance and order

  1. Run each focused test under the same macOS 12 package runtime profile and compare to merged main where possible. Record exact failure ownership; open small sub-issues only where existing owners do not cover the behavior.
  2. Fix root causes upstream in separate focused PRs with relevant security, lifecycle, and performance gates. Do not raise the deployment target, silence failures, or disable the broad CTest suite.
  3. Re-run the complete NuGet Build osx-arm64 job to 91/91 or higher, then the package consumer and release evidence jobs. Update the Code OSS consolidation plan with the result.

The separate GitHub stack #912 (#909 → #911 → #913) owns macOS 12 conversion, white-box linking, and a focused WebSocket/FileReader test gate. Under the agreed fast-merge policy, validate the top for those changes while this issue tracks the broader native suite to full green.

Focused follow-up for CTest #70: #915 now records the writable-after-close/abort TypeError failure and proposed transaction-state guard. A local WebScene commit 94501316 implements the guard and extends the native fixture for write, seek, and truncate after both close and abort. It is intentionally kept off the active #912 package-CI stack until the top related gate completes, avoiding another concurrent macOS job; it will get a separate PR and focused native test.

22 Sep 2026 update: GitHub stack #912 (#909 → #911 → #913) merged atomically at 8c90c5c; the top macOS 12 run passed focused form and WebSocket/FileReader CTests. The same 7/92 broader failures remain this issue’s work. The first dedicated fix, writable-after-close/abort #915, is now PR #916 on merged main; its exact-head macOS package test is running.

22 Sep update: #915 / PR #916 merged at 564641ef after the exact-head macOS package job 106649301824 passed webscene_native_file_system_access in 3.40 seconds. The post-close/abort write, seek, and truncate failure is resolved; #915 is closed and labeled merged. The same 92-test package run had six remaining failures: webscene_native_engine_tests (cross-origin SecurityError then segfault), webscene_native_top_level_navigation_lifecycle (#917), webscene_native_service_worker_markdown_resources (service-worker fetch timeout after product-shaped resource checks), webscene_hybrid_v8_runtime_tests and webscene_webcrypto_aes_gcm_tests (crypto.subtle undefined), and webscene_worker_object_url_tests (terminated-worker capacity). The prior parser-resource failure did not reproduce on this run; keep its history in this tracker until repeated qualification. The PR's focused native CI, macOS/Linux runtime CI, and contracts passed. Superseded PR/main CI runs were canceled after merge; consolidation #76 remains open and now includes merged main through #916.
