Prepare: fix the Unity tests that failed in the main coverage run - #396
The first main coverage run with the Prepare and model-check suites (#394, #395) ran 1629 tests: 1623 passed and 6 failed. This PR fixes 5 of the failures. For the 6th it makes the next run show why it fails.
Cause: Unity never leaves a serialized class field null. Every sidecar loaded from disk therefore has a ToolSettings holding the defaults.
Effect: LoadSettings returned that block even when no settings had been saved. Selecting such a model applied the defaults over the current UV Transfer settings, and IsEmpty never let a sidecar with nothing else in it be deleted.
Fix: SaveSettings now sets the new ToolSettings.saved flag. Settings saved before this change still count when they differ from the defaults.
Tests: the test now also checks a sidecar with no saved settings and settings saved before the flag.
Cause: the plan showed m_HumanDescription.m_GlobalScale: 1 → 0.02. This is the avatar's human description, which follows the Scale Factor that the preset excludes.
Fix: m_HumanDescription (the avatar's bone mapping and scale) belongs to the model, like its remaps, so it is added to PresetStep.Kept.
Cause: the test component was in the editor-only tests assembly. Unity will not add a component whose script is in an editor assembly, so Undo.AddComponent returned null and SerializedObject threw.
Fix:
PrepareTestSurface and PrepareTestSurfaceData move to a new Tests/Fixtures assembly. It is not editor-only and compiles only under UNITY_INCLUDE_TESTS.
ComponentSurfaceBinding now reports a warning when Unity does not add the component, instead of failing.
Tests: a new test checks the warning with an editor-only component.
Not fixed yet
FbxCollisionPlacementTests.PlaceInSidecar… fails because the import does not place the node, so the sidecar list ends up empty. The job log only shows the assertion, so the cause is not known yet.
The coverage script now prints the last 20 lines each failed test logged. A placement refusal is logged as a warning during import, so the next main run will name the cause and it can be fixed in a follow-up.
Checks
python3 Tools~/compile_check.py: 0 errors, with and without LIGHTMAP_UV_TOOL_FBX_EXPORTER. The LogAssert stub gained ignoreFailingMessages.
Local SonarAnalyzer.CSharp: no findings on the changed lines.
Unity never leaves a serialized class field null, so every sidecar loaded
from disk holds a ToolSettings with the defaults: LoadSettings returned it
for a sidecar that never had settings saved, and IsEmpty never let a
sidecar with nothing else be deleted. ToolSettings.saved marks settings
saved by SaveSettings; settings from before the flag count when they
differ from the defaults.

- Preset: the avatar's human description (m_HumanDescription) is the
model's own, kept like its remaps; the preset's excluded Scale Factor
showed up through it as m_HumanDescription.m_GlobalScale.
- Materials tests compare the remapped material by its asset path: the
reimport may give the asset a new instance.
- Surface binding: the test component moves to a non-editor test assembly
(Tests/Fixtures), since Unity adds no component whose script is in an
editor assembly; a component Unity does not add is reported as a
warning instead of failing in SerializedObject.

A warning a test logged often says why it failed; the coverage job now
prints the last 20 lines of each failed test's output after its stack.

If Unity refuses to add the surface component, the prefab can be saved without a surface and later runs will not try again or warn. Fix the retry path and the false change report before merging; the other changes look sound.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to fc80a
The main risk is that a failed surface-component addition can leave an incompletely prepared asset saved, and subsequent preparation may not repair it. The reviewed changes do not demonstrate broader access or increased privileges.
Retained concerns
Medium · reliability · inferred: When Unity refuses the configured surface component, the new warning allows preparation to return normally after collider changes. A prefab can therefore be saved with a newly created root MeshCollider but without its configured surface binding. Subsequent preparation returns immediately because that root collider exists, so fixing the component configuration alone does not retry the binding or repeat its warning. This is a persistent failure-containment and recovery concern; the prior null-target path attempted SerializedObject construction before reaching normal persistence. The prefab-refusal scenario has not been runtime-verified.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The demonstrated exposure is project-asset integrity under the editor user's existing permissions. The partial-preparation outcome can reach consumers of a saved prefab, but the reviewed paths do not establish privilege gain, cross-tenant access, or new remote reachability.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
inferred — The saved flag is a settings-presence marker, not an authenticity or authorization check. A contributor able to modify a sidecar could already supply non-default settings that reached the workflow; the new flag does not bypass the existing consumer validation.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — The new refusal regression test covers an off-root scene-object collider and checks the warning and missing component. It does not establish recovery after saving and reopening a root-collider prefab, which is the failure-containment scenario retained here.

Graphify review — findings
Fixes a sidecar being treated as holding UV Transfer settings when none were ever saved, so selecting such a model no longer overwrites the current settings with defaults, and a sidecar left with nothing else (after a UV2 reset, say) is now deleted. Settings saved earlier still count when they differ from the defaults. Prepare's Preset step also stops applying the preset's avatar description (bone mapping and scale), which stays the model's own like its remaps. Surface binding now reports a warning instead of failing when Unity doesn't add the surface component to a collider's object.
No blocking issues surfaced. 1 lower-confidence candidate did not survive cross-model review.

Добавьте регрессионную проверку для m_HumanDescription.
PresetStep.

Applied, a surface the binding could not set (Unity did not add the
component, or the field is no object field) is reported only as the
warning that says why, not also as a change.

Every import refused the listed collision nodes as "unreadable" on a model whose Read/Write is off (Unity's default), and Place Collision at Root (Sidecar) then dropped them from the sidecar. In OnPostprocessModel a mesh's isReadable follows that setting, yet Unity lets the import change the mesh: MeshTransform.BakeMatrix takes an `importing` flag that skips the readability guard, and CollisionRootPlacement.ApplyOnImport no longer refuses an unreadable mesh. BakeMatrix is split into its normals, tangents and winding parts (same behaviour).
ToolAssetSaveTests.ModelReplacementInvalidatesOnlyUvSidecarBeforeFailingFirstImport marks its settings saved, as SaveSettings does (a default unsaved ToolSettings counts as none since #396).
