Glide

A lightweight Windows cursor magnifier. Shake your mouse to find the pointer, then fine-tune maximum size, sensitivity, effort, grow speed and return speed.

Version 1.0.3 · Windows 11 x64 · Standalone; Windhawk is not required.

Install

  1. Download Glide 1.0.3 and extract the ZIP into a normal folder.
  2. Double-click Install.cmd. It installs the app and creates Desktop and Start menu shortcuts.
  3. Open Glide, click Finish setup, and approve the Windows administrator prompt.
  4. On a new computer, setup asks you to trust the included local signing certificate. Review it and approve only if you trust this download. This is a locally signed beta, not a Microsoft Store or commercially signed release; Windows may show a reputation warning.

The certificate identifies Cursor Magnifier HQ Local Accessibility Signing. Its thumbprint is 7EF713A95A58408FE3B22CF54F0BFDEB5E85BDEA. The public certificate is included so Windows can verify the accessibility renderer; the private signing key is never distributed. Declining certificate trust cancels protected setup.

The accessibility renderer is installed in Program Files\Glide\1.0.3 so the enlarged cursor can appear over Start and other Windows surfaces. The settings app is installed in your user profile. Setup verifies the renderer before reporting success and preserves previous Glide packages when upgrading.

If an existing Windhawk magnifying-cursor mod is detected, setup disables only that cursor mod and preserves its configuration for rollback. Other mods are not changed. Exit Glide before using its installed Restore-Windhawk.cmd.

Controls

Fresh installations use the shared preset: 1000% maximum size, 100% sensitivity, 299% effort, 10% grow speed and 10% return speed, with progressive mode enabled. Start with Windows and close-to-tray are enabled, matching the shared preferences; both can be changed in Glide. Existing Glide settings are preserved, and existing Windhawk cursor settings are imported rather than overwritten. The preset is the small, explicitly selected defaults.json; no registry export is included.

  • Sliders and typed percentages adjust cursor behavior immediately.
  • Maximum size supports up to 1000%.
  • Pause temporarily disables magnification; tray Exit stops Glide.
  • Start with Windows and close-to-tray are optional preferences.
  • All 16 standard Windows cursor types use a smooth native-size return.

Large rendering uses the largest artwork supplied by your cursor theme, with high-quality scaling or vector strokes for supported geometric cursors. A low-resolution custom bitmap still has its source detail limit.

Verification and status

Run Verify-Package.ps1 to check this download's three executable hashes and renderer signing identity without installing or elevating anything.

Both x86/x64 engine builds passed, with 565 native checks and 56 app checks. The standalone app is x64. Version 1.0.3 was installed and its renderer verified ready on the development PC. This is a beta: visual feel and compatibility need testing on each computer. Renderer recovery is included; automatic recovery after stalls has been observed, so this release is not claimed to be flawless.

What this repository contains

This is a public installation package with fresh history. It contains the app, renderer, verification probe, icon, public certificate and installation scripts. It includes the explicitly shared control preset, but no private settings, Windhawk exports, screenshots, logs, backups, conversations, credentials or private signing keys. See PRIVACY.md and NOTICE.md.

The public GitHub owner and commit identity are intentionally visible. The original development repository remains separate and private.
