Better decisions in an age of exponential change.
I am Juan Romero. I build evidence-based tools at the intersection of economics, data science, artificial intelligence, education, and Decision Intelligence.
Romero Labs exists to help people and organizations turn information into judgment, action, and institutional learning. The objective is not automation for its own sake: it is to support human decisions that are more informed, transparent, adaptive, and responsible.
- Peru Commute Dashboard — Reproducible analysis and an interactive dashboard for understanding commuting time in Peru using ENUT 2010 and 2024.
- Peru Commute Connectedness — A territorial atlas that explores commute-time intensity across Peru at department, province, and district levels.
- AI HealthDecode — A generative-AI capstone exploring how laboratory results can be organized and explained to support patients and clinicians. It is an educational prototype, not a medical device.
- Start with the decision, not the technology.
- Make evidence, assumptions, and limitations visible.
- Build tools that complement human judgment.
- Favor reproducibility and practical usefulness.
- Treat responsible adaptation as part of the design.
Economics taught us how to make decisions under uncertainty. Data science taught us how to make decisions with evidence. Artificial intelligence creates an opportunity to help others make better decisions in a rapidly changing world.
