fix(stats): treat an unusable day window as the default - #535
/stats -1 (and any non-positive or NaN day count passed straight to getStats) reported a tail-trimmed window labelled "last -1 days" instead of the default seven-day window.
Root cause
src/commands/stats.ts parses the plugin command argument with parseInt(arg, 10) || 7; a negative value is truthy, so -1 survives and is passed to getStats(). getStats used that value directly in logFiles.slice(0, days) and to render period. A negative slice end trims entries off the newest-first list, and slice(0, NaN) reads as zero, so the window silently shrank while the label rendered "last -1 days" / "last NaN days".
The HTTP /stats endpoint guards its parameter in resolveStatsDays, and the logs CLI guards its own in formatRecentLogs; getStats is the shared sink and had no guard.
Technical solution
Guard the window once at the sink in getStats: Number.isFinite(days) && days >= 1 ? Math.floor(days) : DEFAULT_STATS_DAYS. That makes every caller (plugin command, exported API, HTTP endpoint) fall back to the seven-day default instead of trimming the list or emitting a nonsense period. period now uses the same resolved value.
Tests
Before the fix, on main: node_modules/.bin/vitest run src/stats.logs-window.test.ts → Tests 3 failed | 5 passed (8), with expected 'last -1 days' to be 'last 7 days', expected 'last 0 days' to be 'last 7 days', expected 'last NaN days' to be 'last 7 days'.
After the fix: node_modules/.bin/vitest run src/stats.test.ts src/stats.error-status.test.ts src/stats.logs-window.test.ts → Test Files 3 passed (3), Tests 13 passed (13).
Statistics now use the default reporting window when the requested number of days is negative, zero, or not a valid number. Valid day counts are rounded down, and the displayed period matches the data included.
getStats now validates the requested day count. It uses the validated window to select log files and set the reported period. Tests cover negative, zero, and NaN inputs.

Summary
Validate and apply the stats window src/stats.ts, src/stats.logs-window.test.ts
getStats floors finite day counts of at least one. Other values use DEFAULT_STATS_DAYS. The validated window controls log selection and the period label. Tests cover negative, zero, and NaN inputs.
Invalid day counts use the default window. The change is mergeable, with a recommended test improvement.

Explanation
The title "fix(stats): treat an unusable day window as the default" matches the main change. The diff in src/stats.ts sanitizes the requested day window so that non-finite values and values below 1 fall back to DEFAULT_STATS_DAYS. The new test suite in src/stats.logs-window.test.ts checks the negative, zero, and NaN cases against the same default. The title is specific and uses a conventional commit prefix, and it does not mention any unrelated files.

Add dated logs so the getStats test checks the default window size.
The getStats fallback tests use three log files, so any window of three or more files passes. A fallback that reads every file, or a larger window, would not fail these tests. Adding more files and asserting the selected requests would close this gap.

Expand the dated log fixtures in the “getStats day window” test to include more
files than DEFAULT_STATS_DAYS, then assert getStats(value) selects exactly the
default-sized window, excludes the oldest model, and includes the newest model
for negative, zero, and NaN inputs.
