Note

Low Risk
Changes are limited to test code, dev dependencies, and GitHub Actions; no production plugin runtime behavior is modified in this diff.

Overview
Adds automated test coverage and CI for the plugin: PHPUnit (WordPress integration), Jest (editor helpers), and Playwright (editor + frontend).

Tooling: composer.json gains PHPUnit/wp-phpunit dev deps; package.json adds Jest/Playwright deps and scripts (test:php, test:unit:js, test:e2e, wp-env test config on port 8889 via .wp-env.test.json). phpunit.xml.dist, tests/bootstrap.php, and tests/wp-tests-config.php wire PHPUnit to an isolated wptests_ DB prefix.

Tests: PHP suites cover bootstrap hooks, allowed icon blocks, asset enqueue, and icon div→span rendering. JS unit tests target extend-core-button utilities (gap style, link attrs, label normalization, registered icons). E2E specs assert toolbar add/remove icon in the block editor and frontend span rendering.

CI: Three path-filtered workflows—tests-php.yml (matrix PHP 8.1/8.3, WP latest + WP 7.0 on 8.1, coverage artifact), tests-js.yml, and tests-e2e.yml (prepare job for build + Chromium cache, matrix E2E, failure artifacts). .gitignore extended for coverage, PHPUnit cache, and Playwright artifacts.
