Overview
Initial release (1.0.0) of the Blockparty Button Icon WordPress plugin: it extends core/button (no new block) so editors can toggle an icon, place it left/right, and use horizontal block gap for spacing.

The block editor changes hook blocks.registerBlockType to add hasIcon / iconPosition, swap in a custom edit/save when icons are on, and manage core/icon (or filterable types via blockparty_button_icon_allowed_icon_blocks) as locked inner blocks—with cleanup when the icon is turned off. PHP enqueues built assets, passes allowed icon blocks to JS, and on the front end rewrites core/icon wrappers from div to span inside icon-enabled buttons for valid link markup.

Also adds packaging and workflow: Composer / npm (wp-scripts), lint CI, wp-env, French translations, WordPress.org readme / Playground blueprint, and release automation (version checks on PRs, tag build on main).
