Partly hidden/inaccesible checkboxes

I compiled the model gui myself on a Linux system (details below) from the command line, following the instructions here on github, everything worked smoothly.
When opening the model, there's one small problem:
In the 'Basic' tab, the last checkbox for boundary layer, potential temperature and moisture is partly hidden, making the associated text unreadable.
I can not resize the window, and a scrollbar only exists for the boxes where more checkboxes are hidden.

That is strange. Could it be that the issue is the setup of Qt ?

There are two issues:

• Our GUI has always been a fixed-layout design; in hindsight that was a bad idea.
• Every desktop environment results in a slightly different interface; supporting all including 1737 Linux options is impossible.
