It makes sense to normalize the file/folder loading routines over the whole game. I prolly should take a look under the Ren'Pys hood to figure out how it is done there, Python's OS module doesn't seem to work well with Android, but even if we never release for Android, it still makes sense to use the same routine everywhere.
