Shell:B is built by people who want their AI to be theirs. That takes all kinds: first-time contributors and greybeards, people on a laptop and people with a rack, people who code by hand and people who pair with a model. Everyone is welcome here, and everyone is expected to make it a place others want to stay.
- Be kind. Say what you mean, plainly and without contempt. Critique the work, never the person.
- Assume good faith. A clumsy pull request or a naive question is someone trying. Help them get there.
- Make room. Different hardware, languages, experience levels and ways of working are the point, not a problem.
- Own your words and your code. Including the parts an AI wrote for you.
- Respect the license. You are free to fork under the AGPL-3.0. You are not free to badger maintainers about the licensing choice.
Harassment, slurs, threats, sexualised remarks, doxxing, sustained hostility, or deliberately wasting people's time. This applies in issues, pull requests, discussions and anywhere else the project is represented.
The maintainer, EveAeternam, handles reports. Write privately through the contact on that profile. Reports are read, kept confidential, and acted on, with outcomes from a quiet word to a permanent ban. There is no appeal process beyond a second conversation with the maintainer, because this is a small project and not a court.
Thank you for being here.
