Utilities.isConstructorInvokeInstruction not found

I try to slice the LinkedList.class in JDK8, so I make the JAR_FILE as rt.jar and make the signature as "java.util.LinkedList.removeLast()Ljava/lang/Object;" But it tells me that

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: 'boolean de.uniks.vs.methodresourceprediction.utils.Utilities.isConstructorInvokeInstruction(com.ibm.wala.shrikeBT.NewInstruction, com.ibm.wala.shrikeBT.IInvokeInstruction)'

Thx a lot! There is another question. Can it get the code of the call method? Like this:

this.checkElementIndex(index);
return this.node(index).item;
    }

And the checkElementIndex(index) is as below:

    private void checkElementIndex(int index) {
        if (!this.isElementIndex(index)) {
            throw new IndexOutOfBoundsException(this.outOfBoundsMsg(index));
        }
    }

So after slicing, I can only get the "checkElementIndex(index)", can I get the source code of the method?

I will look into that later. Right now I am upgrading to gradle version 7, wala 1.5.8 and try to recompile the whole project

I recompiled all projects and added the jars directly into the repo's. It's not nice but it works for the moment.
Please try again generating the slice for the rt.jar

There is not way of getting the source code from sliced bytecode in this project. A workaround could be using the decompiler which is shipped by your IDE and open the sliced class file

Wow, it works! and if I want to just slice the part of "throw exception" and just want to "return null", can it work? I have tried it by deleting the "save the return index" in "getInstructionIndexesToKeep" but while there is no return, it can't decompile.

You want to suppress the throw-instruction and replace it with a return-instruction? That should be possible by applying patches to the bytecode using the slicer-project. You need to figure out at which index the throw-instruction is and supply a Replace-Patch to the instrumentMethod- and applyPatches-Method. If you pop the stack element(s) for the throw-instruction, you can return null as a new instruction (in the replace-patch).
