From 85b1d811bf0bb290b19a775290153842350459fe Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: dgant Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2026 14:44:57 -0400 Subject: [PATCH] Accelerate BWAPI connection readiness Defer frame buffers and metrics until after the BWAPI handshake, and use a focused Windows shared-memory mapping interface. Automatically load an architecture-named JNA DLL beside the bot JAR after verifying it against the embedded binary. Preserve explicit JNA settings and ordinary loading when no matching bundle is available, without a custom native cache. Package portable Windows DLLs beside the JAR and cover native loading, startup ordering, mapping behavior, and Windows Java 8 x86 in tests and CI. --- .github/workflows/maven.yml | 22 ++ README.md | 5 + pom.xml | 25 +++ src/main/java/bwapi/BWClient.java | 10 +- src/main/java/bwapi/Client.java | 8 +- src/main/java/bwapi/ClientConnectionW32.java | 20 +- src/main/java/bwapi/JnaNativeLoader.java | 147 +++++++++++++ src/test/java/bwapi/BWClientStartupTest.java | 49 +++++ src/test/java/bwapi/JnaNativeLoaderTest.java | 215 +++++++++++++++++++ src/test/java/bwapi/MappingKernelTest.java | 71 ++++++ 10 files changed, 561 insertions(+), 11 deletions(-) create mode 100644 src/main/java/bwapi/JnaNativeLoader.java create mode 100644 src/test/java/bwapi/BWClientStartupTest.java create mode 100644 src/test/java/bwapi/JnaNativeLoaderTest.java create mode 100644 src/test/java/bwapi/MappingKernelTest.java diff --git a/.github/workflows/maven.yml b/.github/workflows/maven.yml index dfe6611..d84f93c 100644 --- a/.github/workflows/maven.yml +++ b/.github/workflows/maven.yml @@ -30,3 +30,25 @@ jobs: run: mvn -B package --file pom.xml - name: Test with Maven run: mvn test + + windows-java8-x86: + name: Windows Java 8 x86 + runs-on: windows-latest + steps: + - uses: actions/checkout@v5 + - name: Set up the primary bot runtime + uses: actions/setup-java@v5 + with: + distribution: 'temurin' + java-version: '8' + architecture: 'x86' + - name: Verify 32-bit Java 8 + shell: pwsh + run: | + $settings = (& java -XshowSettings:properties -version 2>&1 | Out-String) + if ($settings -notmatch 'sun.arch.data.model\s*=\s*32' -or $settings -notmatch 'java.specification.version\s*=\s*1\.8') { + throw 'Expected a 32-bit Java 8 JVM' + } + java -version + - name: Build and test with Maven + run: mvn -B package --file pom.xml diff --git a/README.md b/README.md index 12b3171..7d4c6c5 100644 --- a/README.md +++ b/README.md @@ -84,6 +84,11 @@ or if you already have maven installed `mvn package` +The build also produces `target/jbwapi-2.2.0-distribution.zip`.
